New Staples Copy & Print Shop Format Extends Staples' Ability to Provide High-Quality Copy and Print Services to New York City Businesses
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2008--Staples, Inc., (Nasdaq: SPLS) the world's largest office products company, today announced it will present the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) with a $10,000 donation at the official opening of its new Copy & Print Shop on Wed., Jan. 16, 2008. The Copy & Print Shop is an entirely new store format designed to meet customers' high-quality copy and print needs, while providing a fast shopping experience for essential office supplies. At noon, Staples General Manager Howard Coopersmith will formally present NFTE Director of New York Programs Sonia Park with the donation. Commissioner of the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) Robert Walsh and Union Square Partnership Executive Director Jennifer Falk will also join the celebration at the new Copy & Print Shop on 116 W. 14th Street in Manhattan.

The new Copy & Print Shop is the 25th Staples store to open in Manhattan since the company first entered New York City almost 20 years ago. This year, Staples plans to open eight Copy & Print Shops near business hubs throughout Manhattan, as well as a traditional Staples store in Manhattan and several in the boroughs. By the end of 2008, Staples will have more than 50 stores in Manhattan and the boroughs, significantly increasing its presence in the Big Apple.
