Staples in Seattle Makes it Easy to Recycle and Save with New Binder Recycling Program

Shoppers will save $2 on new binder for each binder they recycle

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 4, 2012-- Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS), the world’s largest office products company and second largest e-commerce company, is making it easy for customers in Seattle to shop and save on binders. Staples today announced an exclusive, first-of-its kind retail program with TerraCycle, Inc. that creates an eco-friendly, money-saving solution for customers to trade-in used binders. Spring is a perfect time to clean out the desk to get rid of older, worn binders and replace with newer, more professional products.

Currently in participating Seattle stores, shoppers will receive $2 off the purchase of a new binder for each binder that they bring in to recycle. The discount must be applied on the same day the binder is recycled. There are no limits on the number of binders or brands that can be recycled but no more than $2 will be discounted off any new binder. The instant discount can be used toward any binder sold in Staples stores, including Staples® BETTER® Binders or the new customizable planning binder from the Martha Stewart Home Office™ with Avery™ product line sold exclusively at Staples.

This program will be available in select stores within the Seattle area. For more information on store locations and program details, visit
