Looking For The Easy Life? Staples Has The Ticket With The Launch Of Its ''Win the Easy Life(TM)'' Sweepstakes; Popular Staples Easy Button™ Will Make Life Easier For 10 Lucky Winners

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2006--Ever wish you had your own professional organizer to bring order to your life? Or a personal assistant to run errands and save you time? Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS), is making life easier with the launch of its "Win the Easy Life™" national sweepstakes. Staples has hidden 10 winning tickets in its popular Easy Button desk accessory to help customers maintain a better balance between work and life.

According to a recent study by the American Psychological Association (APA)(1), 47 percent of Americans say they are concerned about stress. From now through May 23, 10 Staples customers who find a winning ticket will be awarded the choice of one of the following services to ease the stress of everyday life:

  • Professional home or office organizational service

  • Weekly consultation with a professional personal assistant for one year

  • Weekly cleaning service for one year

  • Weekly grocery and dry cleaning allowance for one year plus a refrigerator and freezer

  • Professional chef to prepare dinner for four, once a week, for one year in your home

"For everyone who has ever wished to press an Easy Button and be instantly organized or have a gourmet dinner on the table before you get home, there is a ticket waiting to be found!" said Shira Goodman, executive vice president of marketing for Staples. "And since our to-do lists keep getting longer, what busy professional wouldn't want 'The Easy Life'?"

To date, more than 650,000 Easy Buttons have been sold, with proceeds of sales, up to $2 million, being donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of America through the Staples Foundation for Learning(TM). In addition, as part of the "Win the Easy Life" sweepstakes, for each winning ticket found, Staples will donate $1,000 to the winner's local Boys & Girls Club.
