Staples.Com Recruits Human Factors International for Customer-Driven Site Redesign

FAIRFIELD, Iowa, May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Staples.com, a leading e-marketplace for small business, launched a dramatic, customer-driven site redesign with the aid of Human Factors International, Inc. (HFI), experts in usability and ergonomic software design. The new Staples.com site provides small businesses with improved usability, time saving navigational tools and reduced clicks.

"Partnering with HFI, we are able to further evaluate our customers' online shopping experiences and needs, and translate them into significant site improvements," said Jeanne Lewis, president of Staples.com. "The new Staples.com site is a result of vast research and delivers a best-in-class design that truly reduces the hassle of running a small business."

HFI and Staples.com spent hundreds of hours evaluating users' work environments, buying behaviors, and decision support needs. The research resulted in streamlined navigation, intuitive searching capabilities, persistent shopping carts, shopping lists for frequently purchased items, comparison charts, a rebate center and the option to securely store credit cards.
