|FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Jun 06, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) today announced the promotion of
Kristin Campbell to senior vice president, general counsel. Campbell,
who previously served as senior vice president, deputy general
counsel, will be responsible for the strategic management of the
company's Legal group. Campbell reports to Ron Sargent, Staples'
chairman and chief executive officer.
"Kristin is an outstanding and respected leader," said Sargent. "She has done an excellent job of shaping the vision for the Staples legal team, and will play an important part in supporting the company's growth in the future."
Campbell, a 13-year Staples veteran, has served in a variety of leadership roles within Staples' Legal group. Since 2005 she served as deputy general counsel, managing the legal team in its support of business and functional groups throughout the company. She has also been responsible for Staples' international legal matters in Europe, Asia and South America. Prior to joining Staples, Campbell worked at the law firm Goodwin Proctor in Boston. She is a graduate of Cornell University School of Law.
