Staples, Inc. Accepting Donations in Stores to Support Haiti Earthquake Relief Efforts
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Jan 20, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In response to the earthquake that struck Haiti last week, Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) is making it easy for customers to make donations in support of relief efforts. Beginning today, all Staples stores and Copy and Print Centers in the United States and Canada will accept $1 donations to benefit the International Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

"Like many people around the globe, Staples customers want to contribute to relief efforts in response to last week's tragedy," said Demos Parneros, Staples' president of U.S. stores. "As part of our commitment to helping the people of Haiti, we're enabling customers to donate to an organization that is providing much-needed support to all those affected by this catastrophe."

In-store donations will be collected through Feb. 20. Staples, Inc. has also made a donation of $100,000 to the International Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund.
