Lewis Recognized As One Of The 10 Most Influential E-Commerce Leaders In New England
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 23, 2001--Staples Inc., (NASDAQ:SPLS) today announced Jeanne Lewis, president of StaplesDirect.com, has been recognized by the Massachusetts Electronic Commerce Association (Mass eComm) as one of the Mass eComm 10, the Association's selection of the ten most influential e-commerce leaders in New England.

Lewis was selected from hundreds of nominees. Each nominee was evaluated based on those leaders who most closely matched Mass eComm's stringent guidelines of the most influential leaders. Through online sales, online customer service, a more tech-savvy supply chain or more innovative marketing, Mass eComm examined companies throughout New England that are profiting from and excelling at e-commerce technology.
Lewis oversees the strategic direction and implementation for StaplesDirect.com which includes all of Staples' e-commerce and catalog initiatives, including Staples.com, Staples.com's Canada sites, StaplesLink.com and Staples' catalog business called Staples Direct. Over the past year, she has grown Staples' online revenues from $94 million to more than $512 million.
