Staples, Inc. Permits its Shareholder Rights Plan to Expire

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 2004--Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) announced today that its board of directors decided not to renew its shareholder rights plan, commonly referred to as a "Poison Pill," which expired by its terms earlier this year.
