|Staples Supplies for Schoolkids in Baltimore and Nationwide Generates More Than $1 Million in School Supplies For Boys & Girls Club Kids|
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 2004--As school bells continue to ring across the country signaling the beginning of a new academic year, thousands of Boys & Girls Club members from coast to coast will be attending classes outfitted with new pencils, pens, crayons, rulers, a notebook and folder.
For the third consecutive year, thanks to Staples Supplies for Schoolkids(TM), Club members will be given the opportunity to start school on a level playing field with their more affluent peers.
In the months leading up to this school year, Staples customers donated $2.95 to have the back-to-school supplies provided to a Boys & Girls Club kids in their area. This year's program grew more than 150 percent with more than 169,000 bundles sold - up from 65,000 in 2003 - for a total of more than $1 million worth of school supplies.

The annual Staples Supplies for Schoolkids(TM) program is in addition to a three year, $2.5 million grant presented to Boys & Girls Clubs of America from Staples Foundation for Learning, Inc.(TM).
