|Staples.com to Attract New Affiliates With All Cash Reward Program|
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2000--Staples.com today announced it has significantly enhanced its affiliate program with a new all-cash commission structure to encourage Web site owners to become active participants in the program. Affiliates can now earn from four to 10 percent commissions based on quarterly revenue generated to Staples.com from their host sites.
"Since launching our business-to-business affiliate program last May, we've recognized the incremental value it can have as a key component of our integrated marketing program," said Kelly Mahoney, chief marketing officer for Staples.com. "To fully reap the benefits, we need to provide attractive incentives to increase ongoing participation."
To become an affiliate, Web site owners fill out an online application at Staples.com or through Staples.com's affiliate program partner, Be Free. After the application is approved, affiliates receive a free tool kit with detailed information on how to set up links to Staples.com, as well as a large selection of marketing materials. These include an array of creative banners, special promotions and new marketing campaign materials to increase traffic to the affiliates' sites while enticing customers to click to Staples.com. Additionally, the Staples.com program provides detailed traffic and sales reporting, enabling affiliates to monitor the number and the dollar amount of Staples.com sales generated.
